Drawing Meaning: Trauma and Children’s Art After 9/11 examines how young artists from around the world used art to heal themselves and others as they expressed complex thoughts and feelings about the attacks.

Opened on the 50th anniversary of the dedication of the original World Trade Center, this special exhibition at the 9/11 Memorial Museum featured artwork from the permanent collection. The works chronicle the ways artists envisioned the most iconic towers of lower Manhattan before and after 9/11.

K-9 Courage , in the Museum’s South Tower Gallery, honored the hundreds of dogs that participated in the response to the 9/11 attacks.

Based on unprecedented access to the agencies and people who conducted the hunt, Revealed: The Hunt for Bin Laden examines the intelligence and military activities that led to a compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where Osama bin Laden was killed nearly 10 years after 9/11.

An exhibition of tintype photographs by artist Melissa Cacciola introduced some of the Native American Mohawk ironworkers, renowned for the ability to work fearlessly at great heights, who helped build the Twin Towers, aided rescue and recovery operations at Ground Zero, and worked to rebuild the new World Trade Center site.

A special exhibition that explored how sports and athletes helped to unite the country, consoled a grieving nation, and gave us a reason to cheer again following the 2001 attacks.
