Medgar Evers College is a public college in New York City that is part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system. It offers baccalaureate and associate degrees in various fields, such as business, education, liberal arts, science, health, and technology3. It was established in 1970 with the cooperation of educators and community leaders in central Brooklyn. It is named after Medgar Wiley Evers, an African American civil rights leader who was assassinated on June 12, 1963. The college is located at 1650 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn, and has four academic centers off campus that focus on advocacy and research5.
