What to Know

Seven Classes Spanned the Day

The 2025 program scheduled sessions from 7:30 a.m. through 8:30 p.m. Instructors included Aditi Shah, Phyllicia Victoria, Riva Gdanski, Victoria Gibbs, Eddie Stern, Shayla Quinn, and event co-founder Douglass Stewart.

The Tradition Began Small

The event traces its history to 2003, when three people practiced in Times Square. Stewart and Tim Tompkins, two of those original participants, became co-founders of a program built around maintaining concentration inside an unusually intense urban setting.

Broadway Became a Yoga Village

Activity stretched between West 43rd and West 45th Streets, where sponsor booths, giveaways, and interactive areas accompanied the classes. Registered participants could receive yoga mats and gift bags while supplies lasted.

Remote Participation Was Available

All seven sessions were streamed through the Times Square Alliance's website, YouTube channel, and Facebook page. The broadcasts extended a location-specific event to people unable to practice in the square.

The Alliance Produced the Event

The Times Square Alliance organized the free program with public and commercial partners. The official Solstice page carries current registration, schedule, accessibility, and participation details.
