What to Know

The Show Began in 1900

The first New York automobile exhibition opened at Madison Square Garden in November 1900. The anniversary presentation used cars including a 1933 Pierce-Arrow, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, and a 1968 Subaru 360 to make that long timeline visible.

Electric Vehicles Moved Beyond Static Displays

Ten manufacturers participated in an expanded EV test track with lanes designed to demonstrate acceleration, handling, and suspension. Subaru introduced the Trailseeker EV, while Kia presented the EV4 and Hyundai showed a redesigned Palisade with its first hybrid option.

Concepts Shared Space With Production Cars

The Genesis X Gran Equator and Toyota Land Cruiser ROX treated the show as a design laboratory, while models ready for customers provided a more immediate view of where the market was heading.

The Lower Level Belonged to Enthusiasts

R2X Rides & Rigs gathered modified cars, overlanding vehicles, motorcycles, and Japanese classics. The exhibition recognized customization as a distinct branch of automotive culture rather than a sideshow to factory displays.

Awards and Experiences Broadened the Program

The Kia EV3 received the 2025 World Car of the Year award. Camp Jeep rides, simulators, demonstrations, celebrity-owned vehicles, and family programming made the show as participatory as it was commercial. The official auto show site maintains current event information.
