What to Know

Five Days at the Javits Center

The show ran January 22 through January 26, giving visitors time to board and compare vessels within a single indoor marketplace. Dealers and manufacturers presented boats across recreational categories and price levels.

The Range Extended Beyond Boats

Personal watercraft, marine electronics, safety equipment, accessories, and other on-the-water products accompanied the vessels. The mix made the event part sales floor, part trade exhibition, and part introduction to boating.

A Tradition Began in 1905

The New York Boat Show identifies itself as the world's first and longest-running boat show. Its early editions used horse-drawn carriages to bring boats into a city where recreational boating was still emerging as a mass activity.

The Formula 457 Held the Crown

The 45-foot-7-inch Formula 457 Center Console Sport was named Queen of the Show. Triple Mercury 600 Verado engines, foldaway seating, a large swim platform, and an approximately $2 million price placed it at the luxury end of the floor.

Education and Family Programs Broadened Access

Fred's Shed offered free sessions on operation, maintenance, and ownership. Children could build model boats and practice casting in the Fishing Frenzy Ball-Pit Pond.

Opening Night Supported the Harbor

An oyster event at the Discover Boating Beach Club benefited the Billion Oyster Project and its New York Harbor restoration work. The official show site maintains current schedules, exhibitors, tickets, and program details.
